How I Can Help

Therapeutic Life Story Work (TLSW™) is a specialised therapeutic approach for children (5+), young people and adults who have experienced significant life events, disruptions or trauma. It helps people understand their story, strengthen identity, improve emotional safety and build confidence in their relationships, homes and communities.

Using creative, age-appropriate tools and evidence-based practice, TLSW provides a safe way to explore the past, honour lived experience and support healing — with family and trusted supports involved where appropriate.

TLSW can support you to:

  • Understand your story and reclaim identity
Explore experiences and transitions that have shaped who you are — and what you believe about yourself.

  • Improve emotional regulation and resilience
Build skills to recognise emotions, understand triggers and strengthen coping strategies.

  • Strengthen relationships and attachment
Create shared understanding with carers or family, foster safety and trust, and support future hopes and routines.

  • Increase independence and participation
Gain insight, confidence and practical skills to engage in daily life — at home, school, work or in the community.

  • Create a meaningful narrative tool
Many people develop a life story book or creative narrative — something they can reflect on, grow with and proudly own.

  • Inform planning and future supports
TLSW can contribute to assessment, NDIS planning and collaboration with other professionals — helping ensure the right supports are in place.

Your story matters — and when it’s understood, it becomes a source of strength, not something that holds you back.
