How I Can Help

As an accredited social worker, I provide comprehensive functional capacity assessments and psychosocial reports for NDIS participants across the lifespan. My approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive, grounded in the psychosocial expertise of social work.

Assessments and reports explore functioning across all life domains to:

  • understand daily living strengths and challenges

  • clarify disability-related support needs

  • identify capacity-building opportunities

  • provide clear, NDIS-aligned evidence and recommendations to support funding outcomes

Reporting that captures real life — and helps ensure the right support is in place.

When Social Work Is the Best Fit for FCAs & Reporting

Social workers are the most appropriate assessors when disability-related functional impacts are shaped by mental health, cognition, trauma or social/environmental factors, including:

  • Psychosocial disability & mental health
PTSD, schizophrenia, OCD, bipolar, BPD — impacting emotional regulation, coping capacity, distress tolerance, self-management and daily routines.

  • Cognitive or developmental needs with social/behavioural impact
Autism, intellectual disability, ABI — impacting communication, supported decision-making, adaptive functioning, executive functioning and community participation.

  • Social and environmental barriers
Housing instability, safety concerns, carer capacity, social isolation, limited informal supports, environmental stressors, or complex systems navigation.

A social work FCA and psychosocial report integrates:

  • functional assessment and

  • psychosocial understanding

to provide clear, holistic, NDIS-aligned evidence that reflects how a person truly functions in everyday life — influenced by emotions, trauma history, environment, relationships and supports.

The result is a richer, more accurate picture — and more appropriate funding recommendations.

What’s Included

Your functional capacity assessment and psychosocial report are completed within a structured evidence-based schedule, typically up to 15 hours (depending on complexity and required evidence).

This may include:

  • Interviews with the participant, family/carers and key professionals

  • Standardised assessments (e.g., WHODAS, Vineland-3, ABAS-3, LSP-16, sensory tools)

  • Analysis of functional domains, risks and disability-related support needs

  • Clear, NDIS-aligned recommendations for supports, funding and capacity building

  • Collaborative draft review and feedback process

  • A polished, robust final report suitable for plan reassessments or access evidence

The focus: a strong, accurate representation of everyday functioning — with evidence that supports the outcomes you need.

Why Choose a Social Work FCA & Report

  • Expert focus on mental health, trauma, and relationships

  • Skilled in recognising hidden barriers to functioning and participation

  • Ideal for complex psychosocial and behavioural presentations
